Situated just 2 miles from Dawlish Warren is a vibrant town centre famous for itsblack swans. For more than a century there have been black swans living, breeding, and indeed paddling up and down the small stream, known as both The Brook or Dawlish Water, that runs through the centre of Dawlish and down to the nearby seashore. The swans have become so inextricably entwined with the seaside resort that over fifty years ago they became the unofficial iconic emblem of the town and continue to be so to this day.
Take a stroll along the stream and admire these stunning black birds. To the left hand side of the stream (facing up from the sea) is a series of aviaries housing many unusual duck species.
If you enjoy ice cream or want to take back some of Devon's famous clotted cream then look no further than Gay's Creamery.
Just across the road from the station you will find a Sarafi adventure mini golf great fun for all the family and if amusement arcades are your thing there is a good size one of those too.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are all catered for with a whole range of eating establishments. Too many to mention but why not check out Trip Advisor to see what people are saying?
